Dori Luzzo Gilmour
An Eastern Washington native, Dori Luzzo Gilmour has spent her professional life chasing a good story, whether it was running the dusty trails with ultra marathoners to greeting voters with stickers at the ballot box; now Dori serves as Special Projects Reporter for Northwest Public Broadcasting.
Dori started her career in commercial broadcasting working as a morning show co-host and newscaster for The Eagle 106.5. After returning to school to become a certified broadcasting teacher for the Kennewick School District and Columbia Basin College, Dori taught for five years. A career shift led her to return to school at Washington State University Tri-Cities to become part of the school of Agriculture, graduating with a degree in enology and viticulture. Dori worked in the wine industry for many years before taking a challenging executive position as mom of three. While being a stay-at-home mom, Dori served for many years as a dedicated volunteer to many organizations and was elected as a city council member and served one term.
