|Recurring Event (See all)

One event on June 25, 2022 at 3:00 pm

$20 – $25

Kulshan Chorus and Sno-King Chorale will join forces to present a choral celebration of the late Stephen Sondheim’s music in “A Sondheim Serenade” on June 4 at 3 p.m. in the auditorium of Bellingham High School, 2020 Cornwall Avenue in Bellingham. A second concert will take place on June 11 at 3 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 4th Ave. N in Edmonds.

Dustin Willetts serves as Artistic Director for both choirs and the performance will include about 80 singers. They will be accompanied by a pit orchestra of some of our area’s most talented instrumentalists.

The concert will feature selections from many of Stephen Sondheim’s iconic musicals, including Company, Follies, Sunday in the Park with George, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Into the Woods.

“Since we began to gently rehearse live in one room together as a community back in September (vaxed and masked of course), Kulshan Chorus has been slowly growing back to its full size of pre-pandemic membership.” says Willets, “’A Sondheim Serenade’ will be our first full concert since January of 2020.”

General admission tickets for the Bellingham concert are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors. Tickets are available through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-sondheim-serenade-tickets-328444294727
