Build, Grow, Inspire: Sustainable Garden Practices
August 16 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm PDT
Rey Cooley is the SLC’s very own Farm to School Program Manager. She moved to Walla Walla for the opportunity to farm and continues to follow her passion for local food systems in the work she does with the SLC/WWVF2S and at Welcome Table Farm.
Join us at Green Park Elementary School Garden for this hands-on workshop. Learn about sustainable gardening and how no till and no dig practices can enrich your soil and benefit the environment. Rey will also discuss the importance of local procurement of food for schools and residents. Get ready to get your hands dirty and learn about how to create abundance in your own yard. This workshop will take place outside, please bring water, wear closed toe shoes and clothes you feel comfortable gardening in.
We’re so grateful to have Rey share her expertise with our community through this workshop! Please JOIN US!
SLC is introducing a ‘pay what you can’ model for workshop registration. We believe the cost of a workshop should not be an obstacle to discovery and learning! This workshop is open to the public. Registration is required.
For more information about future workshop topics and content, please call (509) 524-5218 or visit the SLC website at https://www.slcww.org/public-workshop-series
