CCUCC hosts “How the Bible Actually Works” book discussion starting in January
December 27, 2021 @ 11:45 am - 1:00 pm UTC-7
An event every week that begins at 11:45 am on Monday, repeating indefinitely

The Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Pullman is hosting a series of discussions on the book “How the Bible Actually Works,” by Peter Enns, starting Sunday, January 9, 2022. The sessions are facilitated by Travis Mallett. Each of the series of six discussions will begin at 11:45 a.m. immediately following the church service. It is not necessary to attend the service to participate in the book discussion. The dates are as follows:
Sunday, January 9
Sunday, January 16
(There will be no discussion on January 23)
Sunday, January 30
Sunday, February 6
Sunday, February 13
Sunday, February 20
Author Peter Enns, a progressive Bible scholar and host of “The Bible for Normal People” podcast, puts forth that there is no one right way to read the Bible and that the idea of “being right” as the ultimate measure of faith is a damaging concept. The discussions will offer a freeing approach to Bible study that can help focus on pursuing enlightenment and building a relationship with God.
“How the Bible Actually Works,” is available at BookPeople in Moscow or online at Amazon. CCUCC will also be providing books. The series is free and open to the public. Registration is required and can be done online at www.pullmanucc.org on the home page or the direct link is https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1jVT5kvGjyZP0RMUbFPT-ssOtBcgL9NzziDA3QYUInPc/viewform?edit_requested=true.
