Is it algae? Is it fungus? Wouldn’t you lichen to know…And now you can! Join the Columbia Basin Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society via Zoom for an evening with Dr. Jessica Allen, EWU assistant professor of biology, lichen expert and author of “Urban Lichens: A Field Guide for Northeastern North America”. We’ll go on a journey into the vibrant life of lichens and learn the role these organisms play in our shrub steppe ecosystem. We’ll also hear about the exciting research happening in the lichen world. All are welcome.
