MUSEUM COMMUNITY GALLERY Lon Chaffee: Rustic Wildlife

This month we welcome local Moses Lake artist Lon Chaffee for his first show in the community gallery. Nature, animals, and materials are major sources of inspiration for Lon. Rustic Wildlife highlights Lon’s love of landscape and animals through acrylic. He creates custom-built frames for each painting, seeking to relate subject matter all the way to the border of his pieces. Most frames are upcycled, thanks to family connections to properties spanning from Orville to Whidbey Island. Chaffee collects everything from tree bark to driftwood for his frames. Come see his unique creations live and look for surprises that alter the “canvas” itself.
