Red Barn Event: Grizzly Grub – Bear Habitat in the North Cascades

January 25, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Join us and Dr. Bill Gaines, of the Washington Conservation Science Institute, as he discusses the characteristics that make for diverse habitats primed for grizzly bear recovery. The North Cascades host many remote areas with high quality food sources that would support this effort.

Bill Gaines is a Wildlife Ecologist and Director of the Washington Conservation Science Institute. He has been involved in wildlife research and conservation for the past three decades, including 27-years as a wildlife biologist with the US Forest Service. He has conducted a number of research projects on bears, and other large carnivores, working both internationally and locally. Bill has been involved in efforts to study and restore carnivore populations, including the grizzly bear, in the North Cascades for the past 30 years. He resides in Leavenworth with his wife Susan and daughter Emily.

This is a FREE event with a donation basket at door.
Doors open at 6:30pm for a community social with beer and wine available for purchase. The presentation will start at 7:00pm.
