Scarecrows in the Garden
October 2 - October 31Free
Location: Community Gardens, 317 Alder Street
Ages: All ages
Our scarecrow contest is back and moving to the Community Gardens! During the month of October scarecrows will be displayed in the community gardens across the street from the Museum. Scarecrows must be durable and weather resistant, between the heights of 3 feet and 7 feet tall, no blades or cutting edges, hand-made, no defamatory content, advertising, or political statements, and be family friendly (creepy is okay, but please not bloody or gruesome). Please attach a sign (11×17 max) to your scarecrow that includes their name and your name. This is what the public will use to vote for the People’s Choice award. Scarecrows may be whimsical, humorous, mischievous, lovable, sad, weird, disgusting, eerie, sinister, nerdy, foxy, etc. – use your imagination!
Drop off dates will be September 27 through October 2 between the hours of 10am and 2pm. A Museum staff member will be on hand to assist you in installing your scarecrow in the Community Gardens.
Please check out our website www.moseslakemuseum.com under “Artist Opportunities” for full rules and an entry form. Entry forms are also available in person at the Museum or by emailing us at [email protected]
