Hop on Bus 22 at Columbia Station to take the sweetest tour of the Cascade Loop to see how candy is made in Cashmere’s Aplets & Cotlets Candy Kitchen. See how these candies are made from hand-sorted nuts to hand-packed boxes and taste-test delicious samples fresh from the factory. Liberty Orchards was founded in the 1920s by Armenian immigrants Armen Tertsagian and Mark Balaban, who created the original Aplet, made with locally grown apples and walnuts. Return to Columbia Station via Bus 28. Guided tour ends at 12:15 p.m. These free monthly tours are designed for children and their caregivers seeking ways to explore North Central Washington destinations easily accessed from Link Transit’s fixed-route system. All tours begin and end at Wenatchee’s Columbia Station and are designed to familiarize community members with public transportation.
