Toys Through Time: Family Playtime at the Museum

Who doesn’t love toys?
This summer we have a special interactive exhibit in the works! You won’t want to miss each segment – bring the kids and grandkids for a fun and (mostly) free time of learning and enjoyment! More details to come, but here’s the basic layout:
June 2,3,9,10 – “In A Galaxy Far, Far Away” – focus on flight and space – Planetarium shows on Saturday June 3 ($5 person, tickets via posted link https://buytickets.at/quincyvalleyhistoricalsocietymuseum/885534 ) Second weekend will be Star Wars/Star Trek – engage Darth Vader in a light saber duel, photo op in “space”, stomp rockets and other aerial toys to play with, preschool space station play area, drone demonstration, too!
June 16,17,23,24 – “Ridin’ the Rails” – focus on trains, with a real working HO scale train to run, a wooden train to play in and take photos with, small train sets for all ages to built and play with, Bus Tour with RR expert Dan Bolyard on the 17th from 9 am to noon (https://buytickets.at/quincyvalleyhistoricalsocietymuseum/900355)
June 30, July 1,7,8 – “Mini Me: Dolls We Love” – focus on all kinds of dolls, from antiques to American Girls and Barbies, even talking Teddy Ruxpin and Grubby “dolls”. July 1 features Sydney Paulson, co-host of American Girl Fan Club, photographer and podcaster for American Girl dolls, who will feature her collection and provide some fun backdrops for photos of you and your dolls. On July 8, we will have a “Dolly and Me Tea”, a fancy dress up time with sandwiches, sweets and lemonade ($5 tickets at https://buytickets.at/quincyvalleyhistoricalsocietymuseum/905480 )
July 14,15, 21, 22 – “Construction Junction: STEAM” – focus on LEGOS, K’nex, and other engineering toys. Displays of amazing “builds”, LEGOS and other toys to play with and competition challenges with prizes for various age groups! Built a LEGO car to take home and race it with your friends on our track!
