“Wrecked” Author & Short Documentary Screening Event
Event Description:
In this dynamic community event the audience will be treated to: A screening of the NWPB documentary “Wrecked,” an author presentation by Coll Thrush the author of the new book by the same name, and a fireside chat between NWPB's Anna King and Thrush. The entire program will be about an hour, with an optional book signing event immediately afterwards.
About Wrecked the short documentary:
Produced by Northwest Public Broadcasting and inspired by the book of the same name by historian Coll Thrush, the 20 minute film “Wrecked” traces the history of multiple iconic shipwrecks on the Pacific Northwest coast and the impacts these wrecks have had on the communities there. The Graveyard of the Pacific, an area of coastline from near Tillamook Bay, Oregon northward to the west coast of Vancouver Island — which includes the dangerous Columbia Bar — has seen more than 2,000 ships wrecked and hundreds of lives lost.
This event is brought in partnership with NWPB and Mid-Columbia Libraries.
