Learn Together
NWPB is excited to provide resources and activities to local community organizations for mini-events. Participating organizations regularly receive books to read aloud, activities and extension experiences so children can learn together, engaging in STEAM-related activities with adults in the community that they already know and care about.
Read Together
NWPB combines beloved PBS characters with children’s love for books and reading by partnering cooperatively with area libraries. Visit your local library to hear stories read aloud, see some of your favorite PBS Kids characters on display and participate in fun activities as you Explore Together.
Play Together
Want to meet Daniel Tiger or Curious George in person? NWPB in-person events are the ultimate way to Explore Together! These free, community-wide events provide activities rich in content and connection. Typically held from 9-11am, Explore Together events are great places to play together as children learn about STEAM concepts in a nurturing, fun environment. Take home resources and books keeps the learning going once children get home.
Watch Together
The PBS Kids programs that air on NWPB are research-based and rich in learning content. Award-winning shows like Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Molly of Denali introduce children to new ideas about themselves and their world. When adults join children in watching a program, they can ask and answer questions and extend the ideas that children see.
Explore Together/Exploremos Juntos is an early education initiative created by Northwest Public Broadcasting to engage families in STEAM learning, enhance educational opportunities for children and connect with the communities we serve.
