Equal parts symphony, dance party and underground club night, The Hip Hop Orchestra Experience fuses the structural rigor of classical with the raw energy of hip-hop, creating a new genre of live performance.

Jedd Greenhalgh, NWPB classical host and creator of NWPB's original show "Now That's What I Call 21st Century," spoke with JooWan Kim, the ensemble's creator, conductor and pianist about the group and its time in the region.

The Hip Hop Orchestra Experience will perform in collaboration with the Walla Walla Symphony on April 24, 2026.

The group's concert film, The Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience, had its U.S. premiere as a PBS special in 2025 (now streaming on PBS ALL ARTS) and is set for its world premiere via Marquee TV and Amazon Prime on April 20, reaching over 50 million households with additional linear broadcast across Central & Eastern Europe and Greece.
