At Neill Public Library
Join the WSU Whitman County Master Gardener volunteers for Garden Talk Tuesday the second Tuesday of each month. The Garden Talks will begin promptly at 1 and will feature a different gardening related topic, presented by WSU Whitman County Master Gardeners and/or local experts.
The next Garden Talk is March 10. The title of the talk is How Plants Beat Drought and Heat presented by Andrei Smertenko, PhD. Heat waves are becoming more common on the Palouse, often affecting the most important stages of the plant life cycle. Periods of drought exacerbate the impact of extreme temperatures. This presentation will discuss how plants survive by skillfully using their anatomy, physiology and biochemistry.
At 2 pm (or shortly after the Talk) the "Ask a Master Gardener" table will be staffed with WSU Whitman County Master Gardener volunteers ready to answer gardening questions and/or receive your samples of plant problems for diagnosis.
