Garden Talk Tuesday - April 14
Garden Talk Tuesday - April 14
Garden Talk Tuesday and Ask a Master Gardener Plant Clinic
At Neill Public Library
Join the WSU Whitman County Master Gardener volunteers for Garden Talk Tuesday the second Tuesday of each month. The Garden Talks will begin promptly at 1 and will feature a different gardening related topic, presented by WSU Whitman County Master Gardeners and/or local experts.
The next Garden Talk is April 14. The title of the talk is “Get to Know Your Garden Soil” with WSU Whitman County Master Gardener volunteer and retired Soil Scientist Mary Brodahl. Mary will discuss how physical and biological properties of soil relate to plant growth and development.
At 2 pm (or shortly after the Talk) the "Ask a Master Gardener" table will be staffed with WSU Whitman County Master Gardener volunteers ready to answer gardening questions and/or receive your samples of plant problems for diagnosis.
Mary will also be available to guide you through the process to check soil texture. You are invited to bring a small sample of your garden soil. Collect a half cup of soil from a depth of 2-3” in your garden. Remove pebbles, twigs and large clumps. Place the soil in a small baggy and bring to the Talk. If you prefer not to bring your soil there will be some samples provided.
There will also be information available about testing your soil for nutrients.
