Millie and The Mentshn in concert!

Millie and The Mentshn in concert!

Millie and The Mentshn – Bellingham’s favorite Klezmer band – are reviving their show “Homeland to Heartland” for BMC audiences! Not since 2005 have we had the chance to hear the storytelling, music and memories of Millie’s ancestors, who kept very detailed and literate diaries and photos of their experiences both in the Old Country and the New World.

Classically trained musicians Millie Johnson, soprano and director, Susan Ediger Blum, clarinet, Ken Bronstein, oboe, Phil Heaven, viola/violin, Lou Lippman, piano, and Warren Palken, percussion/drums, bring a program that follows the immigration of Jews to America from Lithuania at the end of the 1800s to the late 1940s. It speaks of love, work, prayer, family, strength, and tradition.

We offer a free one-hour program preview on Wednesday, November 4, 10:30am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 119 Texas St. in Bellingham. All are welcome. This is BMC’s gift to the community!
