Seattle Wind Symphony: "Legends and Tales"

Seattle Wind Symphony: "Legends and Tales"

Join us for an enchanting evening of music and imagination, featuring captivating works inspired by storytelling. From epic adventures to whimsical fairytales, each piece paints a vivid narrative through powerful melodies and rich harmonies. Let the band take you on a journey where every note tells a story—one you won’t want to miss.

Julie Giroux’s Riften Wed is a hauntingly beautiful and cinematic work that evokes the solemnity and emotional depth of a fantasy wedding ceremony, inspired by the world of video game storytelling. Mannin Veen is a heartfelt tribute to the Isle of Man by Haydn Wood, weaving together traditional Manx folk melodies into a nostalgic and expressive musical portrait. A delicate and introspective work originally from his Final Alice, Acrostic Song by David del Tredici blends lyrical lines with subtle dissonance to evoke the surreal and poetic world of Lewis Carroll. Last but not least, Johan de Meij’s epic Symphony No. 1: The Lord of the Rings brings Tolkien’s world to life through five vivid movements, each capturing the essence of iconic characters and scenes from the legendary fantasy saga.

Bring your friends, your family, and your love of music for a night that celebrates the timeless art of storytelling through sound.
