Walla Walla Basin Drought Preparedness Community Workshop
Walla Walla Basin Drought Preparedness Community Workshop
We hope you can join us on Wednesday, June 24 from 5:30–7:30 PM at the Water and Environmental Center! We'll be sharing information about the Walla Walla County Conservation District's draft Drought Preparedness Plan a community-driven effort to prepare for and respond to drought conditions across the Walla Walla Basin in Washington and Oregon.
Drought is here and becoming more frequent, with real impacts on drinking water, farms, and streams throughout the Basin. The Drought Preparedness Plan aims to help communities, farms, and cities better understand water availability, coordinate during dry years, and identify conservation strategies that work for everyone in the basin.
The evening will include:
Short presentations on drought in the Walla Walla Basin from partner organizations
Interactive stations on city water use, agricultural water use, and conservation strategies and opportunities to share feedback
Q&A with water managers and agency staff from Washington and Oregon
Free food!
We want to connect with residents, farmers, and businesses across Washington and Oregon — come learn, share your thoughts, and help shape the future of water in the basin.
