Four Shillings Short is the husband and wife duo of Aodh Og O’Tuama from Cork, Ireland, and Christy Martin from San Diego, California. Since its inception in the San Francisco Bay Area, Four Shillings Short has always had an experimental streak. Co-founded in 1985 by Aodh Og O’Tuama and Ernest Kinsolving, the band has included a changing cast of Northern California’s Irish, folk, jazz, and classical musicians. Since 1995, the current partnership of Aodh Og O’Tuama and Christy Martin has formed the core of Four Shillings Short. In 1997, the duo began their first US tour and now play in 46 US states and in Ireland.
Ellensburg Shakespeare Project presents The Merry Wives of Windsor, a comedy by William Shakespeare. The Merry Wives of Windsor is a comedy that brings together one roguish knight desperate for money, two wives with a taste for mischief, and three bachelors vying for the hand of the same young woman. A cast of 15 brings the story to life in a 90-minute adaptation of the play set in the vibe of contemporary reality television. Performances are free of charge and open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy the show. Free tickets are available on eventbrite to help us know how many audience members to expect.

Childhood's End Gallery presents Form a Line, a group exhibition of new work by four distinct Pacific Northwest artists. Finding common ground in bold representation of the natural world, Kathy Anderson, Colleen Cotey, Sara Gettys, and Julia Janeway each bring a practiced sensitivity to their chosen mediums. Through processes that remove material or add it, these four artists present new works rooted in an intimate knowledge of place and material.

The first annual Kittitas County Senior Games is happening August 13th - 15th here in Cle Elum. The goal is to promote health, wellness, and activity for our friends who are 50 years and wiser! We have friendly competition for everyone. Register for one or ten games. All skill levels and experience are encouraged to participate in categories ranging from 50 years to 90! Gold, silver, & bronze medals will be awarded. Indoor games will be held at UKC Senior Center on 8/14, and outdoor games will be held at Cle Elum Roslyn High School on Saturday 8/15. On Friday, August 14, 2026 at 1:00PM, Gesa Power House Theatre welcomes film fans of all ages for FREE WILLY as a segment of a four-week family-friendly throwback film series! A troubled young boy named Jesse forms an unlikely bond with a captive orca named Willy at a marine park. Initially rebellious and disconnected, Jesse is assigned community service at the park, where he begins to connect with the intelligent whale. As their relationship deepens, Jesse learns that Willy has been separated from his family and is being exploited for profit by the park’s owners.
When the owners decide Willy is no longer valuable and plan to dispose of him, Jesse and his friends race against time to set the whale free. In a climactic moment, Jesse helps Willy escape back into the ocean, symbolizing both the whale’s return to freedom and Jesse’s own emotional growth and sense of belonging.

The WWII Manhattan Project Hanford site workforce lived in the village of Richland, WA in letter designated housing.
The Alphabet People lived in government-owned housing, shopped in government-designed shopping areas, and were entertained by government-sponsored events designed to keep people happy in a place where "Silence is Security" and "Blabatours are Sabatours."
