The NPR and Classical service KNWR 90.7 FM will continue to be off air through the weekend. The radio tower and transmission system, located on Naneum Ridge near Wenatchee, has suffered structural damage, likely due to recent severe winter weather.
The timeline for a permanent fix depends on multiple factors. The NWPB engineering team is working hard to find a solution. They will be working on the tower all day Sunday in an attempt to implement a temporary solution. The earliest return to air is likely to be late Sunday evening or early next week. KNWR will remain off the air until either a temporary solution is completed and/or permanent repairs are achieved.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Listeners can stream the Classical service via the website or NWPB app at any time.
