Peter K is the music curator, content creator and host of The KOHO Morning Run on NWPB’s KOHO 101.1 in Wenatchee.
Known for community-focused storytelling and eclectic musical taste, his career is defined by a deep knowledge of music history. He has a persuasive take on how genres and artists influence each other during development and consequently inform present sonic landscapes. Growing up in the Midwest, he spent 45 years in Minnesota. After a Polar Vortex swept across the tundra and froze his everything... he gathered what would fit in a Ford Edge one crisp fall day to escape. That 12-year journey would lead him through Bozeman, Monterey, and Topeka.
In March of 2025, he was pulled by numerous mystical and beyond-coincidental forces to the foot of the Enchantments, to Wenatchee, for the creation of a unique radio show that he's been ruminating on for 30 years.
Launching The KOHO Morning Run in May 2025, Peter developed a unique musical landscape. The radio show's playlist spans 70 years of the musical spectrum and aligns with Pete's varied and vast music collection. Jazz and blues, classic, punk and art rock, Stax/Motown, RnB and funk, indie innovators and alternative boundary-breakers are all in his stash. He shares your affinity for the Pacific Northwest music scene past and present. In an unprecedented move in Wenatchee radio, NWPB's KOHO 101.1 has also opened the airwaves to the abundance of Wenatchee Valley icons and emerging artists, giving them their just due after decades of local radio ignoring that audio treasure of creativity.
He's also deeply 'local' in all its forms; music, art, shopping, food, beverage, culture and history. Growing up in a small river town with a small business owner as a father, he understands the experience and seeks to amplify it for the good of everyone living as neighbors.
