Maria Chávez, an author and professor of political science at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, is coming to speak at a virtual event hosted by North Central Washington Libraries.
The event will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m.
During this virtual event, Chávez will talk about obstacles Latinas experience as women of color, as well as interviews she has had with other women on the subject. She dives into the challenges they face in their education and in the professional world.
Chávez will also speak about her own experiences.
This public talk is free to attend. To register for the event, visit NCW Libraries’ website.
In October, Chávez will speak in person at three different locations in central Washington.
