Malaria was a problem for many of the service branches that served there. Because we didn’t, we really didn’t know much about it. I remember straining the mosquito wigglers out of water, from shell holes up on some of the ridges there on Guadalcanal. And then dump a Halazone tablet in it, and let it, wait for along, and then it was drinkable. Malaria was just a major problem.
