Local "No Kings" rally to be held in Pullman. Part of the national movement. This event is a peaceful national day of action and mass mobilization in response to the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the trump administration.
Madrona Fest, coming October 18, to the Key Peninsula, is a celebration of the good life in the great outdoors. The festival features Black Belt Eagle Scout as the headliner along with Olympic Peninsula singer songwriter Simon Lynge, progressive roots country singer Nathan Evans Fox, and Oregon cowboy duo Buffalo Kin, along with lots more! There will be a contra dance for the community in the afternoon along with workshops and a jam. Activities for the kids (and kids are free), plus the food looks amazing! Curated by local Caren Halvorsen, the food will feature local farms and produce and delicious food like mushroom bisque and in-house pesto.
In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings.
Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.
The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Join us at A Book for All Seasons to welcome local author, Dan Gemeinhart for a book signing from 1-3pm for his two new books: Busted and The Gingerbread Monster, both released this year! Learn more about his new books, and Dan himself below.
Busted
Oscar Aberdeen is a twelve-year old like no other. Raised in a retirement home, he's into bridge, knitting, and Frank Sinatra. But a madcap adventure ensues when his grandfather can no longer afford the rent, and Oscar agrees to bust out a retired mobster in exchange for cash on the outside.
The Gingerbread Monster
In his laboratory high on the hill, Frank N. Stine has a ferocious sweet tooth that snarls to be fed. But when an eerie experiment spills into his Gingerbread batter, a frightening cookie creation comes to life! The Gingerbread Monster is hulking, horrific... and hungry. But as Frank is chased by his creepy creation, the young baker begins to wonder what the Monster truly craves. After all, there’s no sweeter treat than friendship.
Author Bio
Dan Gemeinhart is the New York Times Bestselling author of ten critically-acclaimed books for young readers, including The Honest Truth, Scar Island, The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise, and The Midnight Children. He lives in Cashmere, WA with his wife and three daughters. You can find him on Instagram at @dangemeinhart.
The event will begin at 2pm on Saturday Oct. 18 in our beautiful Depot. We will be serving tea, a variety of elegant sweet and savory snacks (some made with local native plant ingredients harvested right here in Pullman!), and sampling a locally native herbal tea. Throughout the party we will have 3 guest speakers sharing information about local gardening with natives. We hope this event will be a memorable gathering to celebrate our efforts, plus the appeal and importance of the plants we're bringing back to our downtown. Every ticket includes a raffle entry toward one of several available door prizes, and we'll be providing a sneak peak at additional native species crafts for purchase before our upcoming annual Holiday Bazaar. Fancy hats are fully recommended! Proceeds of this event will go toward supporting and expanding the planting efforts on the Depot's embankment.
Join us in celebrating our 42nd Anniversary, and in celebrating YOU - our amazing customers!
We will have Karaoke hosted by our GM, Brenton. We will also have a FREE appetizer buffet, and door prizes drawn every 30 minutes! Prizes include merch, gift cards, and more!
