Are you interested in learning about barbershop-style harmony? Do you want to try out a new singing style for the summer? Then come join Rolling Hills Chorus for a 7-week, hands-on Barbershop Summer Workshop! Learn the basics of ringing chords, singing in four-part harmony, and blending your voice with others in a supportive, all-women space. The workshop begins June 18th at 6:45 pm and continues every Thursday night through July 30th. Learn a new song, improve your voice, and, if you'd like, perform with us at our summer soiree!
Whether you’re new to barbershop or returning to singing, you’ll work with experienced chorus members, build confidence, and discover the joy of harmony, friendship, and shared music-making. Register now to reserve your spot! Treble voices of all ages are welcome to participate. Your $45 registration fee includes a copy of sheet music that you can keep, access to learning tracks, and 6 weeks of vocal instruction.
This FREE annual concert, conducted by Dr. John Falskow, is a vibrant celebration of community that fills the stage with energy, color, and festive music. Featuring a diverse array of American composers, the program represents the many powerful voices that enrich our nation. The performance showcases Frank Ticheli’s An American Elegy, a remarkably optimistic and strong tribute to human resilience, and features host Dave Beck guiding us through Aaron Copland’s moving Lincoln Portrait. We recognize the service of our active military and veterans with Salute to the Armed Forces and perform local composer Megan Vinther’s Under Pines and Stars. The Star-Spangled Chorus returns to the stage under the direction of Dr. Linda Gingrich, joining the band for a rousing rendition of Stars and Stripes Forever that’s sure to send you home with a spring in your step.Whether you’re a longtime fan of wind band music or a first-time listener, this festive program promises to uplift, delight, and bring our community together through the power of music. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with our lavender fields near Seattle and enjoy the native forest walk. We will guide you through the varieties of lavender on our farm and teach you how to snip like a pro. Each ticket includes a hands-on experience: cutting your own lavender bundle and learning to de-bud dried lavender. We encourage you to stay awhile, bring a picnic, snap photos in the field and Walk through the native forest learning as you go with our written guide. Enjoy a refreshing lavender lemonade on the porch while exploring the charming Farm Stand for unique, hand-made lavender products. We also offer wreath making, bath salt making, charcuterie boards and farm to table dinners. Explores the history, science, and people of the Manhattan Project through the Atomic Exploration series. Delve into the events that culminated in the development of the world's first atomic bombs during World War II.
