Bill of Rights Celebration—Concert to Benefit World Central Kitchen

December 15, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

This will be a combined celebration of the birthday of the Bill of Rights, and a musical concert to benefit the World Central Kitchen. This is a not-for-profit non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. It is currently doing everything possible to bring more aid into Gaza as well as to Mexico and to the Ukraine, among others. All proceeds from the event will go to World Central Kitchen. For more information visit https://wck.org/
Following a presentation by Sallie Shawl, music will be provided by two folk acts. Gary Kanter is a New York-born songwriter/humorist with a passion for topical songs in the tradition of Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, and John Prine. He currently lives on Camano Island. For more information on him visit https://garykanter.com/. Steve and Kristi Nebel are long-time Tacoma residents, locally known for their peace activism and music. Steve’s song lyrics weave in and out of nature themes, many of which are informed by his lifelong passion for the Pacific Northwest, and colored with characters from four generations of Washingtonians in his family.
