Dracula Spectacular! Parts 1 and 2 – A Staged Reading

Join the Department of Theatre and Film for the first installment of this season’s Dialogues: Voices from Performance speaker’s series as we welcome Seattle’s Red Eagle Soaring Native Youth Theatre as the perform a staged reading of Dylan Thomas Elwood’s Dracula Spectacular Parts 1 & 2. The readings will be in the Milo Smith Tower Theatre, located on the second floor of McConnell Hall. Each part lasts approximately 30 minutes and will be followed by a talkback with the artists. The event is free and open to the public.

Dracula Spectacular Parts 1 & 2 – Following the death of their grandmother, Rocky Lightning must fight to save their younger sibling when they are kidnapped as a sacrifice to a heinous ritual. Once a generation, the blood moon rises, and darkness descends on the reservation as Darla Dracula arrives to wreak havoc! In order to topple the bloodsucker’s plans, Rocky will have to face the ghosts of his people’s past, and take up the mantle of warriors long past.

Dialogues: Voices from Performance is pleased to be starting it’s third season of bringing a diverse group of artists to the CWU community and is presented by the Department of Theatre and Film and the Africana and Black Studies Program. Programming is made possible by the Len Thayer Grant and generous donor support.
