Environmental Film and Speaker Series Presents: The Smell of Money

April 11 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free – $5

The Confluence Rotary Club has partnered with the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center for a screening of the award-nominated documentary “The Smell of Money,” followed by a Q&A discussion with film producer Jamie Berger.

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, 7-9 PM, guests will also have an opportunity to sample delicious plant-based dishes, with supervised activities for guests’ children in Coyote’s Corner.

“The smell of money,” that’s what Big Pork calls the stench of pig waste in the air in eastern North Carolina, where much of the world’s bacon and barbecue is made. But to Elsie Herring and others who live near the state’s giant pig factories, the revolting odor is a call to battle against generations of injustice. Read the full film description and watch the trailer to learn more.

Pre-Registration is required for childcare ages 5+. Space is limited. General registration in advance is recommended for all attendees. Admission is free for members and $5 for non-members.

Registration for regular admission can be found here and childcare admission can be found on the attached link.

The Environmental Film and Speaker Series is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Chelan and Greater Wenatchee Valley. The Smell of Money screening is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wenatchee Confluence and the Ridge 2 River Animal Haven.
