Hank Cramer: Folk Music of the Pacific Northwest

Hank Cramer, a popular folksinger and historian from Washington’s Methow Valley, will present a concert at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center on Friday, September 15 at 6:00 pm. The theme of Hank’s music program will be “The Pacific Northwest In Story And Song”, to match the “Rainier Remembered”, an art display of photographs and lithographs of the iconic mountain. Hank always invites the audience to sing along, so don’t be shy!

Hank is one of the best-known performers in the Northwest. He has released 24 albums in his career, and performed on the sound tracks of several movies. He ties history and music together, and performs often at historic sites along the Oregon Trail as well as seaport museums on all three coasts. He has won a number of honors and acknowledgements, but is most proud of being the 2011 recipient of the Humanities Washington Award, presented to one performer each year for excellence in the arts. Hank’s most recent CD is titled “Westward I Go Free”, a collection of ballads and tunes from the western trails era. It will be available for sale in the gift shop, and all proceeds will benefit the museum.

When not on the road performing music, Hank resides on a ranch outside Winthrop with his cowgirl wife Kit and their many critters. During natural disasters, he is called out by the Washington Emergency Management to help plan recovery for affected communities. He also serves a Congressional Fellowship to advocate for military veterans and the Gold Star Families who have lost loved ones defending our country.
