January 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeDr. Martin L. King, Jr. gave his historic speech on August 28, 1963, during the famous March on Washington. Dr. King’s speech has been acclaimed as his most significant speech and commonly referred to as his “I Have A Dream” speech. Today, this speech is considered by many historians to be among the top five speeches given in our country’s history.
Many of us know the contents and substance of the speech. However, most of us are unaware that the “I Have A Dream” lines in this speech were not planned and therefore “almost did not happen.” The fascinating account of the details that resulted in those most famous lines added to his speech are presented in story telling fashion and will provide a deeper appreciation and admiration for both Dr. King and his speech “I Have a Dream.”
