Into The Wild: How and Where To View Wildflowers Locally

April 8, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Join the Washington Native Plant Society’s Columbia Basin chapter, and our friends from REI, at the Richland Public Library to celebrate National Native Plant Appreciation Month! Botanist and Shrub-Steppe-Soil Crust Extraordinaire Al Sullivan will go over the importance of how and why to recreate responsibly when viewing wildflowers in the shrub-steppe. Then, CBWNPS Field Trip Chair Janelle will present a virtual wildflower walk that features some April blooms and where to find them. Upcoming free wildflower walks and some exciting native plant-related events happening throughout the wildflower season also will be highlighted. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided; bring your favorite mug to help cut down on waste and leave no trace. All are welcome to this free in-person event, provided in partnership with REI as part of their Recreate Responsibly Series.
