Mimi Sturman’s Highway of Esculents

October 5, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 8:15 pm

Free

A Highway of Esculents (“esculent” – suitable for use as food) is another fabulous installation by Mimi Sturman. Humans are unable to care for themselves as they are too busy arguing, so the animal and insect world must take over to save humanity. Mimi creates a tale involving a cast of single needle hand-felted characters – look for giant ant scientists and chefs, a gigantic lavender bear, and a huge bird delivering food to mankind.
With pieces as tall as 8 feet, the installation will fill the gallery, and will be available for viewing from October’s First Thursday Art walk (Oct 5) to November 25. A reception for the artist will be held on Sat Oct 14 from 2 to 4 pm.
Located in the heart of Seattle’s Pioneer Square, Lynn Hanson Gallery is a contemporary art gallery – a welcoming space full of approachable art. Open First Thursdays from 5 to 8:30 pm, and Friday-Saturdays from 11 am to 4 pm.
