Seattle journalist, travel writer and habitual museum-delver Harriet Baskas explores the wonders of foodstuffs that never quite made it into people’s mouths. Developed from research for her book Hidden Treasures: What Museums Can’t or Won’t Show You, Baskas shares stories from 40-year-old Passover lamb shanks, to cucumbers grown and pickled inside hand-blown glass bottles, to a family who made artwork out of old cake.
