Tick, Tick… Boom! (the musical)

Tick, Tick… Boom! is a pop/rock musical theater show that tells a semi-autobiographical story of Jonathan Larson, the creator of the musical Rent. It is one week before his 30th birthday in New York City, January 1990. As a struggling, “promising young composer” of musicals, Jon is going through a mini-mid-life crisis, worried that his life is going nowhere. His best friend Michael is making huge financial success on Madison Avenue as a corporate executive, and his girlfriend Susan, a dancer, wants to settle down and move out of the city. Should he sell out and get a marketing job, or move out of the city and get married, or keep trying to write a hit musical? The show is witty, lively, and touching, featuring many rock and pop music styles.
