Valley Theater Company Presents: The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood

May 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$15

Valley Theater Company is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Starting the season off with humor, VTC is delighted to announce its upcoming Rising Stars Production, “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood.” Performances will run May 10 to 18 at the Ramsay Ballroom in Ellensburg.

This frantically funny and Monty Pythonesque retelling of the classic story of Robin Hood promises laughter, adventure and a few surprises along the way. Audiences will be taken on a hilarious journey through Sherwood Forest as they follow the exploits of this swashbuckling, egocentric outlaw and his band of spoon-wielding Merry Men.

Performance Dates:
May 10 – 7 p.m.
May 11 – 2 p.m. / 7 p.m.
May 16 – 7 p.m.
May 17 – 7 p.m.
May 18 – 2 p.m. / 7 p.m.

Location: Ramsay Ballroom 414 N. Pearl St. 2nd floor, Ellensburg, WA., located directly above The Clymer Museum. The door to access the second floor is between The Clymer and The Rodeo Hall of Fame. Please note that The Ramsay Center is a historical building that is in the process of being restored. At this time it is not ADA accessible, has no wheelchair access and there is no elevator to the 2nd floor.

Tickets for “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” can be purchased online https://our.show/valleytheatreco/2024-robin-hood for $12 student/senior, $15 general or $2 more at the door before each performance. Valley Theatre will offer a “pay what you can performance” on May 17 at 7 p.m. for viewers for whom cost is a concern. More details are available on the Valley Theatre website www.valleytheatreco.org.

VTC’s Rising Stars is a project developed to serve as an expressive and artistic outlet for area middle school youth. “The show has fun fight scenes, important life lessons, cheesy romance and a whole lot of “Huzzahs! ” said Grace Englehart, Co-Director for this Rising Stars production. “I hope that audiences walk out with smiles and the realization of how amazing our kids and what stellar talent is in our community in Kittitas Valley!”

About Valley Theater Company
Valley Musical Theatre has been a staple in the community since its creation in 1999 by the Laughing Horse Arts Foundation. This year marks their 25th season anniversary, and they have big plans for the future. In July 2023, VMT changed its name to Valley Theatre Company to better reflect their broader scope of theatrical offerings. As a nonprofit, VTC is primarily staffed by volunteers who are passionate about bringing the art of theatre to Ellensburg. At VTC, they believe that everyone has a story to tell. They want to inspire their community to participate in the art of storytelling as creators, collaborators, and audience members. They want the voices of the community to be heard and included in their work. VTC strives to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels that there is a place for them in the theater experience.
