We are thrilled to invite you to the Walla Walla Basin Watershed Council’s 30th Birthday Open House! For three decades, we have been dedicated to enhancing, restoring, and protecting the Walla Walla Basin’s natural resources– and we are excited to share this milestone with you.
During our open house, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Engage with Our Staff: Meet our dedicated team and learn about the impactful work we’ve accomplished over the years. Our staff will be available to discuss past, current, and future projects, as well as ways you can get involved in watershed conservation.
Celebrate Local Artistry: Be part of the excitement as we announce the winner(s) of our local youth art contest running from the 2nd to the 26th of April. Community youth will have submitted their interpretations of the Walla Walla Basin, showcasing its beauty and significance, and all artworks will be available for enjoyment.
Unveil of Metal Salmon: Witness the unveiling of stunning and symbolic metal salmon in the dry creek-bed of our office. These artworks illustrate our commitment to salmon habitat restoration and the importance of healthy waterways in our ecosystem– for farms and families as well as fish.
Launch of Our Fundraising Event: Our staff works hard to secure grant funding for the majority of our work, however, these funds are restricted in their use. As we continue our projects throughout the watershed, we are aiming to secure more donations throughout the year as well. Impactful donations will be used for building our capacity, the long-term sustainability of our organization, and our education and recharge programs.
Enjoy Refreshments and Networking: Relax and enjoy light refreshments while mingling with fellow community members, artists, and council staff. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals passionate about preserving our watershed.
