A native of Seattle and a University of Washington graduate, Steve Reeder began his life in radio at KUOW-FM, while still in his teens. He has since worked on two separate occasions at KING-FM there, first as Program Director and later as a staff announcer, producer, and interviewer. In between, Steve spent nine valuable and highly enjoyable years at WFMT-FM in Chicago, where he had the good fortune to work alongside the likes of the late Studs Terkel, and where he (quite by coincidence) had the opportunity to play the very first CD on American radio. In case you’re wondering, it was a Tuesday evening, and it was the opening section of Richard Strauss’ “Also sprach Zarathustra.”

Originally from San Diego with roots in Washington, Jean-Pierre found his path to public media after working in radio and arts programming. At NWPB, he draws on a decade of broadcasting experience to create meaningful connections with audiences and mentor the next generation. Outside of work, he enjoys tea shops, record hunting, cooking his abuela’s carne asada, and bookstore open mics.

Lauren Gallup is a reporter based in the south sound region. She often covers labor issues, but she’s really most drawn to the stories of her community.

Raised along the Snake River Canyon in southern Idaho, Lauren Paterson covers culture, socioeconomics and crime across the Inland Northwest, with a focus on rural, working-class, and tribal communities. Her work has been featured on NPR, Here & Now, KUOW Seattle, Oregon Public Broadcasting, NewsNation, ABC 20/20, and an Amazon Prime docuseries for her reporting on the 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students.
