In Washington state, climate change is expected to bring lower stream flows, warmer winter temperatures and less snowpack in lower elevations. That’s according to a presentation from the state’s climatologist.

On Aug. 1, three wildfires flared up in the Spokane area. For hundreds of people, the Spokane Transit Authority was instrumental in helping them evacuate potentially dangerous areas. By sheer coincidence, the supervisor who coordinated the evacuation effort had been in a similar situation before.

Changes are coming to the Hanford Advisory Board. The board, which is currently made up of around 70 members – including alternates — will be snapped down to 20.
