Honoring Transgender Day of Remembrance with Stories from Transrural Lives

November 20, 2023 @ 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Please join the CWU Museum of Culture & Environment (MCE) as we partner with TransRural Lives, a community-rooted digital storytelling project, funded in part by a Humanities Washington Stories Fund Grant, that explores and celebrates the rich lives of rural Transgender adults. We’ll mark the loss of trans and gender-diverse people and create a space of remembrance, reflecting on ways of addressing anti-transgender violence, and engaging with the experiences of trans individuals affected by these issues.

This event is held in conjunction with the MCE’s exhibit, We’ve Always Been Here: Queer Histories of Kittitas County, developed by guest curator Tiernan VanSuetendael in conjunction with CWU students. The MCE is located in Dean Hall (1200 Wildcat Way) on the CWU campus. The Museum is open Weds. – Sat. 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and admission is free. Parking on the CWU campus is free on Saturdays and after 4:30 PM on weekdays. For questions, email [email protected] or call (509) 963-2313.
