The Lessons of the ERA on the Past, Present, and Future of Women’s Rights: A Case Approach

April 29, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Have you ever wondered why we need the Equal Rights Amendment?

If so, please join the League as we host Thorp Social Sciences Teacher Alex Ahlgren, to present The Lessons of the ERA on the Past, Present, and Future of Women’s Rights: A Case Approach on Saturday, April 29, 9-11am, at the Hal Holmes Community Center, Ellensburg Public Library.

Mr. Ahlgren was selected to attend the Harvard Business School’s (HBS) professional development seminar for teaching high school civics using the HBS renowned case approach. The HBS case approach stresses analytical and strategic thinking. The data gathered to date indicates that this approach is exceptionally successful in engaging high school students. Mr. Ahlgren will lead the community through a live case demonstration illustrating this cutting edge method of teaching as well as content about the ERA. The case will explore those pivotal points during the efforts to pass the ERA and analyze what history has taught us about the ERA’s past, present, and future.

Registration is required. Visit kittitasleague.org to register.

The event is free and open to the public with light refreshments available.
